VOTE FOR ED CONROY ON MAY 9TH

Ed Conroy is a candidate for Precinct 14 Town Meeting Representative. Ed lives in Manomet and runs his law practice in downtown Plymouth. Ed has gained considerable experience in dealing with Plymouth issues through his community service and his experience with Town Government. Ed has served the Town of Plymouth in the following capacities: 

1.  Plymouth Zoning Board of Appeals – alternate (2008 – present) - Ed’s background in real estate / zoning law provides added value to the Zoning Board of Appeals so that Ed can understand the law behind the zoning application and the applicants zoning issues.

2.  Plymouth Building & Construction Committee (2003-present) - While serving on the Plymouth Building Construction Committee for the last six years, he worked with the other committee members overseeing rehabilitation of the PCIS HVAC system, the recently built Crematorium and numerous other Town projects

3.  Plymouth Advisory & Finance Committee (2003-2008) - While serving on the Plymouth Advisory & Finance Committee reviewed all of Plymouth Articles that where presented to Town Meeting. Ed chaired the subcommittee that reviewed and scrutinized various budgets including the Building Department, Health Department, Library, Inspectional Services, Veterans Department and Council of Aging. Also he chaired the Zoning Subcommittee.

4.  Board of Directors for the Council on Aging.

Ed also volunteers his time for various causes such as Rotary, Business Network International (current president), Lawyer for the Day at the Plymouth Probate & Family Court, Bankruptcy assistance for disables veterans and provides free consultations for the elders at the Plymouth Council on Aging. Ed is also a member of the Plymouth Chamber of Commerce, Massachusetts Bar Association, Plymouth District Bar Association, the John Alden Sportsman Club and the Ancient Order of Hibernians.   

In relation to educational background, Ed graduated from Canisius College with a B.S. in Finance, and then worked as a stockbroker for a year and half before attending law school. Ed graduated from Thomas M. Cooley Law School in 1994 and went on to obtain a Master of Laws in Taxation from Boston University Law School. Currently Ed holds his Series 7 Investor License and is licensed to practice law in Massachusetts, New York and Washington DC.

Ed is the youngest of six children and currently engaged to be married to his long time partner Rebecca.
